Performance Anomaly Discovered
Latently during Systems Integration
A sub-system, of a Fiber Optic/Optical design,
exhibiting a “shifting spectral response” of the optical
receiver was discovered late in the integration process being
performed by a Prime Contractor. The sub-systems Contractor contacted
TCA, Inc (located in Central Florida).
TCA procured a noted expert in the field of Applied
Physics and Optical Materials to analyze the problem. This expert,
located on the West Coast, was contacted immediately and was teleconferencing
with the Contractor the following morning.
Through teleconferences and some research
study the expert was able to quantify the effects that were being
witnessed and provide options/solutions to the Contractor with
a minimum impact to the system.
